Vonwik Zing and Shrugs: Why the Apps Stopped and What Still Works

Quick answer: Zing and Shrugs were services sold through vonwik.com. Their servers went offline with vonwik.com in June 2026. The apps still open on a Firestick, but there is nothing behind them, so they will never load channels again.

The errors you will see

  • "Unable to connect" or "Invalid server URL": the address built into the app no longer answers.
  • An empty channel list: same cause.
  • A renew button that goes nowhere: the old billing pages were part of vonwik.com.

Reinstalling the Zing APK does not fix any of these. Neither does clearing the cache.

Watch out for "new Zing" downloads

Some sites now offer a "Vonwik Zing 2026 APK" or promise to restore old Shrugs accounts. None of them has the old accounts. At best it is a different service with an old name on it.

What still works

The Zing app was only a player. Any standard player does the same job once you have a working line:

  1. Install IPTV Smarters Pro or TiviMate.
  2. Choose the Xtream Codes login.
  3. Enter the server URL with its port, the username and the password from your provider.

In one line: the people behind the original Vonwik were sued by the big studios, never showed up in court, and lost by default. The judge awarded $9 million and ordered the domains handed over. That is why vonwik.com stopped working in June 2026. Who sued Amazon, Netflix, Disney, Paramount and other members of the Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (ACE).
